Phoenix winter grass, seeded right, in one visit.
Your Bermuda goes brown in November. Ours doesn't. We overseed with premium ryegrass so your lawn stays green from October through spring — flat pricing, everything included, and a guarantee that means something.
From $399 — scalping, haul-away, seed, fertilizer and top dressing all included.

How it works
We scalp it down
Your Bermuda gets mowed short and every clipping is bagged and hauled off. This is the part nobody wants to do, and it's the part that decides whether seed reaches soil.
We seed and feed
Premium ryegrass at full Phoenix overseeding rate, then starter fertilizer and a compost top dressing to hold moisture around the seed.
You water, it turns green
We leave you a watering schedule. Germination runs 7 to 14 days, and most lawns are fully filled in three to four weeks later.
October 1 – 20
Phoenix ryegrass goes in once nighttime lows hold under about 65°F for several nights running. In most years that is the first three weeks of October.
- Too early — hot soil and still-active Bermuda choke out the seedlings.
- Too late — cool soil slows germination and you get a thin December lawn.
- Just right — green in 7–14 days, filled in well before Thanksgiving.
Timing is most of the job
Overseeding is not complicated, but it is unforgiving about when it happens. Seed three weeks early and the heat kills it. Seed three weeks late and you get a thin, patchy lawn that never really fills in.
We watch soil and overnight temperatures across the Valley and schedule seeding into the window, not around our calendar.

Get your winter lawn on the schedule
Tell us where you are and roughly how big the yard is. We confirm the size on site, give you the exact price before we start, and seed it in one visit.
- No payment now and no account to create
- Scalp, haul-away, seed, fertilizer and top dressing all included
- Backed by our re-seed guarantee
If it doesn't come in, we re-seed free. If that still fails, you get a full refund.
All we ask is that you follow the watering schedule we leave with you — seed that never gets water cannot germinate, and that is the one failure we can't fix for you.
Common questions
What is winter grass in Phoenix?
Phoenix lawns are mostly Bermuda grass, which goes dormant and turns brown once nights get cold. Overseeding with perennial ryegrass on top of the dormant Bermuda gives you a green lawn from October through about March. Locals call that winter grass or winter rye.
How much does winter grass cost in Phoenix?
We charge a flat rate by yard size: $399 up to 1,000 sq ft, $699 for 1,000–2,000 sq ft, and $899 for 2,000–4,000 sq ft. That includes scalping, hauling away the clippings, premium ryegrass seed, starter fertilizer and top dressing. Yards over 4,000 sq ft are priced per square foot above that.
How long does it take to turn green?
Ryegrass germinates in about 7 to 14 days when it is watered correctly. Most lawns look fully filled in three to four weeks after seeding, so an early-October seeding is green well before Thanksgiving.
Do I have to be home when you seed?
No. We just need gate access to any area being seeded and the dogs put up. We will text you when the crew is on the way and again when the job is done.
What happens to the winter grass in spring?
Ryegrass dies back on its own as temperatures climb in April and May, and your Bermuda comes out of dormancy underneath it. Mowing lower and cutting back water in spring speeds that transition along.
